Why aren't stone counter tops sustainable?
While stone
counter tops are “natural”, the mining process is
destructive to landscapes, and carbon-intensive. Often
stone slabs are shipped long distances to their end user
which greatly adds to their carbon footprint. Natural
stone is also a porous material that is often vulnerable
to scratches, stains, and breakage. When damage does
occur it is not easily repaired.
SolidCraft / EnduraWood’s materials are from recycled
products, urban salvage, and FSC Certified material.
