Why aren't stone counter tops sustainable?
While stone
counter tops are “natural”, the mining process is
destructive to landscapes, and carbon-intensive. Often
stone slabs are shipped long distances to their end user
which greatly adds to their carbon footprint. Natural
stone is also a porous material that is often vulnerable
to scratches, stains, and breakage. When damage does
occur it is not easily repaired.
SolidCraft’s materials are made locally, from recycled
products, and all are repairable to some degree.
